My name is Danny. I've had my 97 Ranger for about 6 years now.

Started out bone stock w/ 99,000 miles. First major mod I did was an 8" Skyjacker suspension lift and 37" Super Swamper SSR's. Later, I decided to ditch the 37's in favor of 36" Super Swamper Iroks.

That is how the truck sat until I got courageous and decided to Solid Axle Swap the truck. It's been sitting in the same place for the past 3 years in need of some maintenance. Well, I got all the parts recently and will be tearing into it real soon.

Front Axle: 86 Jeep Grand Wagoneer D44
Rear Axle: 95 Izuzu Rodeo D44 (Disc Brakes ;D)

Should have about 10-12" lift when done!

D30 is an option, but not recommended due to its low strength... You will need to make sure the differential is on the driver side of the truck so it will match up with the transfer case. Any axle with the diff. on the right side should work... just depends on how wide you want the tires to stick out and how much customizing you want to do...

The easiest swap by far is a D44 from a 70-77 bronco... about a 80% bolt on

slightly more articulation when flexing... the strength is really the main advantage.

as far as ride quality, the D35 is definitely better...

Guess ill go next... My name is Jason and in in Virginia Beach, VA. Im a Navy Midshipmen at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA.

As for the truck, its a 2003 Ford Ranger Edge 3.0. My dad was the origional owner own it and my first car was actually a 1994 Nissan Sentra which I had done tons too and miss a lot!In 2007 we sold my car so I would drive the Ranger in HS and my dad bought his 2007 Vista Blue Mustang GT Convertivle. It wasnt a bad tradeoff i guess, lol... Graduation came around and by that point I had added the MAC Performance Intake and my parents decided to give the truck to me as a graduation present and as they said, "a thank you for taking care of the truck as well as i did". Considering I washed the truck once a week, id say they were right! lol

Later on I put on the Flowmaster Super 44 and love it! I have since done the interior paint, engine dress up, decked it out in Streetglow, and a few other things... also have a few things on my X-mas list for the truck so hopefully tis the season for modding!

Sorry for the novel! Thats the short story of me and my Ole Ford Truck!

I had the 8" skyjacker lift w/ 2" front coil spacers and the stock block in the rear... actually drove very well... I guess I didnt wheel it hard enough to break anything... except my transmission... LOL

One of my coils started to buckle so instead of reseating it, I decided to SAS the truck... and the rest is history...
