Try going really fast, it might just go up the tree.

Re: Update ! ! Now it really is.....

Thanks for all the comments. I cant wait to go out and bash on it and see what breaks. I really enjoy building, and sometimes rebuilding it. :)

I am going to the Pirate4X4 meet and greet in Clayton Oklahoma (youtube it or green acre's) at the end of march so we will see how she holds up under EXTREME conditions.

Ha. I kinda forgot about this BB !!!
Yea i just swapped out bodies.

Long time no update.
Well i treated it pretty bad and no major failures!
I added a brace on the doubler, and made my trans mount to my new skid plate.

I came across some 44 boggers on 8" wheel instead of my 10" wide wheels. I bought them, put my 44's and wheels for sale or trade for a steering rockwell axle. After about three weeks i finally got a call from someone who was really intrested in trading. After some phone calls and picture trading i decided to trade. It was missing a few parts but i found them all locally and for free. Since it was missin stuff i talked him into throwing in a 12v power pack (bail spike pump)with the axle!!!
Time for four wheel steer!

Re: Update ! ! Now it really is.....

I had to spin the chunk 180* so my driveshaft would end in the middle. When you turn it around, you have to drill holes in the chunk or drill and tap the housing because the studs wont line up. Most people just drill new holes in the chunk. I decided to drill tap my housing. My reasoning was if i EVER need to change chunks, it would drop right in, no drilling new holes in the chunk!!

Re: Update ! ! Now it really is.....

I got the straight axle all out, and started putting the rear steer in. I used the chunk out of my old axle because the spiders are allready welded up.

Next up was making the arms for high steer. I am a machinist and work in a machine shop, so i used my mill to do the bolt holes.

Here are some videos i shot of my cnc mill!!
Drilling the holes.

Chamfering the holes for a lug nut. This way its not a shear off force on the stud, its a pull up force on the stud. Make any sence???
