Powertrain swap:
Supercharged 5.0L V8
4R70W automatic transmission (Explorer),
BW4406 manual t-case (F150)








Strapped Bilstein 7100's:





Rear 7100's, 63" springs, extended Duff traction bars:

Nope, never dynoed. Might get it done after the next round of mods.

hold on, MORE MODS?!?!?! depending on what heads you have on that 302 youre probably pushing 500 or damn close to it at the flywheel... thats assuming that the supercarger is a procharger for the 5.0...

I had the bed off to relocate the forward leaf spring hangers for the Chevy 1500 springs. It seemed like it would make the job easier.

The whole rear disc swap was under $200 plus my labor but I was lucky to find some good deals. Those Caddy calipers are in demand for musclecar rear disc swaps and some sites list them for as much as $300/pair. I paid $36 each on eBay. The 11 1/4" vented rear rotors were listed on eBay for a Lincoln but are the same part number as the Mustang SVO. $10 each. Brake flex lines are take offs from the front calipers of a Mustang for around $20/pair, IIRC. The rest of the money went for hard lines, fittings, steel for the brackets, paint, etc.

Except for the headers, blower and injectors, that's a stock Explorer engine. It moves right along but nothing close to 500HP.

Ever since I installed it, I've been collecting goodies whenever the price was right. It will soon get a rebuild with some hotrodding.

oh my wow thats sick man nice job only thing i think you could have done to make it any better was make it 5 speed but thats alot still sick as hell

Do you have a wiring diagram for the Explorer computer in the center console?

It was originally a 5-speed when it was a 4.0 and will be again with the 5.0.

What are your plans for running the shifter? You going to remove the computer?

I used a Ford Wiring Manual for a 99 Explorer. Tons of wires and a few new sensors required. AFAIK, it will not work with a factory Ranger PCM (no fuel flow output).

Yes. The FE and DTE calculation is incorrect now anyway because I've upped the injector size.
