Here is what seats will bolt into a Ranger:

Escort/Lynx

1981-1991.

Mustang

Veryyyyy Toughhh too findd but will work if you find them

Tempo/TopazT

All years. Tempo GT's are the nicest. Tilting "pillow" headrest and frequently power lumbar.

Thunderbird

1982-1988, Turbocoupe has nicest seats same as Mustang GT,power-lumbar, adjustable thigh support, adjustable side bolsters on base.


Ford explorer

The most commonly swapped in that i have seen.

Ford Escape

Not without Modification to tracks


All of these should bolt directly to your factory tracks if you have either Buckets or split-bench.
You will have to run a Tap through some pre drilled holes in the bottom of the seat frames. The holes are already there but unthreaded.

If you have a regular cab Ranger you cant use the pillow style headrest, because it will hit the rear window, If you have a Supercab Ranger headrest clearance isn't an issue. Also, Ranger Regular cab and Ranger Supercab all have different floor pan profiles and therfore use different seat tracks, so be sure to get seats with the same track as yours if you dont want to do any heavy modding. If you have a conventional bench then you will need to replace your tracks with split-bench/bucket-seat tracks.

i got all the info from being on other forums, google, Cardomain etc. Ive only had my ranger since this past summer, but i dive into mods right away with all my rides so i pick things up!

Yeah, there are a ton of different seats that will fit in a Ranger... a buddy of mine even has Camaro seats in his 95 reg. cab....

The center console from an explorer will! Get them for cheap from a junk yard and fix them up... best thing to use unless you are crafty enough to fab up your own!

Yeah, they will fit in a standard cab ranger... In the 98+ ones, it's much easier as the cab is 3" larger. You may have to trim the bottom on the very back of the console to get it in yours. Not too hard though!

Seat Swap 1991 Ranger STD CAB

Hey everybody... Im getting a 1991 Ranger, 5 spd,std. that needs a lot of work. 1 question I have is: Does anyone know what bucket seats and center console I can use from other vehicles to swap out this worn 60/40 bench seat...

After looking in the junk yard, about the only decent seats I could find were in a 2006 Ford Escape.
Will those fit in a 1995 Ranger Extended cab, or is it going to be a major modification?
