Went about 35 miles to grab some old metal from my father in laws boss at work it weighed in at the scales at 2880 pounds

He is a GMC guy and had a bunch of old axles and front clips along with other metal.

I am keeping the chevy truck hood though. Gonna clean it and paint it and hang it in the garage

Sweet wouldn't that be a fun truck to fix up?
I told the guy I wanted to see it when he finishes it.
Yes I bet you it would look pretty cool when it is done..
He does all the work himself. Where that el camino was sitting was his paint booth.

He had a old camaro sitting in the shop also. The front was off it and was doing the frame work along with building the engine.
Sick I would of liked to see some pictures of that too .. I love pictures.
Those are some nice pics STL! How did your truck handle the haul?

35 miles back at 55mph maybe hit 60 once going down hill. It handled very well. I had switched the tuner to the towing tune.

I had the air on and the temp gauge stayed less then normal the whole time. Coming to a stop was rough. That trailer I would day weighs in at 1K pounds it's self.
Some tidbits I picked up while I had my '54 chev 1 ton work truck with built early '60's 283 c.i. It was fun  to drive. The '47 to '54 chev 1/2 to 3 ton trucks used the same cab. The '54 was 1st year with one piece windshield, also some late '54 had same body as '55.

I hear ya on the stopping part! I had about 2000lbs of ceramic tile in the bed of my F150 one time and it took like 10 times further to stop. I realized it a the first red light and had to almost slam on the brakes to stop.

In doing so, the tile slid forward, hit the inside of the bed behind the cab and the truck jumped forward about 3 feet. Felt like someone rearended me... LOL
hahahaha srry danny but thats funny about the felt like someone rearended me.
:D :D :D
:D
That truck should have little to no trouble towing that stuff even with stock tune and parts. My 3.0 with just intake and exhaust hauled a civic with 2 engines in the empty interior. It weighed out to about 3800 lbs without the trailer. Handled it like a champ!
Very true! The 4.10 gears are amazing with power! MPG, not so much! lol... if I remember right STL has 4.10 gears as well.
rub it in! thanks! LOL
i told u i have a locker waiting for u lol and bfg g force slicks
God I would love those on my truck! Those G Force Slicks are amazing!
