Any RBV t-case will bolt to any RBV 4x4 transmission, but the 1350 (older tcase) has a slip yoke built into the case, and the the 1354 (newer tcase) has a bolt on style yoke. The really new 1354 cases (like 01+) use a CV joint type yoke. There are few 1350 cases with bolt on style yokes, but I havnt seen one before. An older 1350 case can be used on a newer truck as long as you use the older driveshaft as well, but the slip yoke doesnt have as much travel as the external type found on the 1354 cases, so it has a tendency to bind or pop apart when the suspension droops or compresses especially on a lifted truck.

Just saw your info on the explorer brake swap with the crown vic, will have to check it out when they need to get the first change out. Have to get the rear hooked up to the truck first. Thanks 8)
