Hello my 2000 Ranger (love my truck, by the way !!:))

Has check engine light on. I checked for codes and the only recorded codes
are P0452 & P0453, both for Evap Emission System - FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR, one code meaning high, the other low.

I'm wondering if there are common tests for this?
replace fuel tank cap? check health of sensor?

does anyone have experience / advice with this?

thanks very much !

p0452 & p0453 codes (evap pressure low and high)

Thanks Peter for you reply. Can you please describe where is the evap solonoid harness? I'd like to check that too.

I read a few different people had same codes and they eventually found the cause to be wires that had been slightly mis-routed and rubbed by the spinning driveshaft. They were both Chevy's so maybe that doesnt apply to our situation.

I tried a new gas tank filler cap and that fixed it for a few weeks (maybe 100 miles) then the check engine light and the code came back again. Actually only the p0452 -- I haven't seen the 0453 come back so far.

thanks for any info or advice anyone has to offer
