It would be a 99-04. And I think that the Cobras from that style were all supercharged maybe? IDK. I know the 03-04 were and that those also had independent rear suspension. I would take that thing in a heartbeat for $200-300. Even if you don't do anything with it, you could part it out and sell the engine for at least $500 unless there is a ton of miles on it. How bad did he wreck this thing?
I would say buy it cuz you could always put it in one of your other projects in the future an I think cobra mustangs had the 5.0l in it
Unfortunately, those did not have the 5.0L in them. They were still the 4.6L. No mustang 96 and newer had a 5.0 in them from the factory until the present day brand new one with 412 hp. :) :) :)
well he was dumb and bought it as his only vehicle and in michigan thats a no no so the first big snow storm we had he started to fish tail and the back went out and went offroad and hit a telephone pole he was going about 45 mph dumbass the pole hit his rear end and it kinda wrapped around it from what i hear i think he was going faster but thats just me but the price to fix it is to much for him so he is parting it out and asked me
Oh that kinda suprises me shows ya how much I know eh LOL
HOLY **** MAN!!!!! That engine is worth $7,000 easy! 4.6 modgular engine, supercharged, Rord Racing components combined with Shelby performance. That there is an amazing engine. And if you can get it for $1,000 you would have a major steal!!! Even if the engine had 75,000 miles on it! Theres a few cobras in my club and with minor tuning and bolt on intake and exhaust you can easily make 550hp from that bad boy!!!!!
Wow see you got a steal of a deal you should buy it
yea but what if he ripped on it really bad wont parts cost me a ton?
yes parts can cost a lot. How many miles are on the engine? These cobra engines were not built for the streets man. They were race engines put into street cars. They can take tons and tons of punishment!
he told me it has 140,000 but if parts cost alot than y get it ?
yes they can they were a tough built motor
because that supercharger is worth a ton as well! And if it still has a strong block it has lost of room for profit or potential!
7000! wow i would buy it in a heartbeat
ok now the next best question would all of it fit into another 2003 edge ranger? or a gen 1 ranger? i was thinking maybe a street truck
Yes, very easily. If you can fit a 5.0 into a 2003 with no modifications to frame and body work then a 4.6 can go in! You just may have to be ready to make a higher clearance hood for the supercharger and make room near the radiator for a intercooler.
Before you tell a guy that a 5.0 and a 4.6 are the same size, you should definently get out a measuring tape.. The 4.6 is wider. There's actually not much difference in physical size between a 4.6 and a 460. I think the main difference is in length. The mod motors are huge.

I didnt say tey were the same size, I said that if a 5.0 can go in then a 4.6 will. Yes, the 4.6 is wider than the old 5.0 engines(which are actually 4.9) but the 4.6 is also shorter in height than the 5.0. You can change the location of the holding tanks for wiper fluid and coolant overflow to fit the 4.6. Lots of modifications will need to be dont to accomidate any V8 but with both the 5.0 and 4.6 the engine will fit without body modification. And length on the 4.6 shouldnt be a problem either. Should fit fine with electric fans on a modified radiator.
