im gettin ready to do a motor and tranny swap in my ranger and was wonderin how i need to put the new motor and auto tranny in and hook it to the stock t-case or if i have to get a ranger auto tranny that will hook to my 351w ???
There are a few adapter kits out there to bolt a Ranger tranny to a T5, etc. Your best bet though would be to get a C6 w/ T.C. out of an older Bronco or F150
Yeah, your driveshafts may need to be shortened (rear) and lengthened (front).
Do you have an extended cab Ranger? You may be able to use a regular cab rear axle, but as far as the front axle goes, depending on how long you need, you could probably get one off of an F150 or see if a SuperLift extended front driveshaft (for a Ranger) will do the trick.
just find a good drive line shop around your area and they should be able to help you out. or build you some new one's but its always cheaper to work with the one's you have. as far as shortening them or lengthening them
for the headers you have a few opts. i am using the ford explorer 5.0 headers there ugly as hell but they will do the job. you can also get some from james duff summit racing and a few others as well
