this is how to go from this

to this


this is what you will need:
#2 philips, T 20 torx, 1/4 in. drive socket set, hack saw, a drill, 1/8 drill bit, tape, chalk dust, gen 2 door panel, arm rest suport bracket, door handle trim ring, window crank handle and all mounting hard where

this is how to do it:
1. remove old door panel
2. remove inside window molding (the new door panel has it built in)

3. remove all the retaning clips from the new door panel
4. cut the aliment pine of of the new door panel with a hack saw

5. place tape over the holes in the arm rest support bracket
6. mount the bracket to the new door panel
7. fill the tape covered holes with the chalk dust

8. hang the new door panel and tap the side of the arm rest
9. remove the new door panel the revel where to mount the support bracket

10. drill the holes withe the 1/8 drill bit
11. remover the bracket from the door panel and mount to the door

12. reinstall the retaning clips in the new door panel
13. reinstall the door panel
14. drill 2 1/8 in. holes in the proper locations under the door pockets and screw it in

15. install the new door handle trim ring and window crank
16. step back and enjoy your work

17. do the other side the same way

nicely done . bravo on the write up. yes the chalk :lamp:thats better than spray bomb dont have to let it dry :laugh: could you post pics of the gen two doors stripped . you mentioned cutting off alignment pins ,so iam guessing that there are hole too fill in the doors? i ask because i have a set of straight gen two doors waiting to go on my ranger for paint and i have not stripped them now you have me thinking ???

the aliment pin lines up with one of the holes for the clips on the gen 1 doors but it was bigger then the hole for the clip and i was to lazy to drill it out so i just cut it of. I would take pics but my camera died. to mount the gen 1 armrest on the gen 2 door u will have to do some modifcations because the mounting clips for it are not there.
