Okay, I always change my oil between 3500 to 5000 miles depending on how much punishment i put the engine through... I never let it go more than 5500 though... just my little peeve i guess.

How often do you guys change your oil?

I usually try and change it right at 3000... mine all have 80,000+ miles...

im at about 3500 now so when i get back home tomorrow i guess i gotta put some new purple oil in it!

i have to disagree guys the oil we have now adays is made to take a beating so let it ride a lil longer. its a waste of money to change it before 3000 just fyi but you should be good for min 4000 miles on most oil. i go 3500 to 5000 based on things like did i go 3000 and have a big trip coming up or how bad did i beat on it

Well, im at 3500 now and its been on ice and snow and a 200 mile trip and today its gonna be making the trip back through all of that to VA Beach so by the time i get home it wont be long till 4000. figure ill change it when i get time in the coming days.

I havent changed the oil in my 97 in over 3 years... it's only traveled about 3 feet in that time and cranked once... LOL

I have a bad feeling I'm gonna need to rebuild the engine

Maybe I could just throw my 5.0 in there ;D

Full synthetic will hold up a bit longer as well. You can go 4000-5000 on synthethic as long as your motor doest run dirty. I like to go every 3500, but I am running syn blend. My old 2.3 could go 6000 miles, but it also burned a qt every 600 miles so it got changed on the go.lol Changing RP every 3000-3500 is just throwing money awat since it cost so damn much and could easily go 5000 miles under regular/moderate driving conditions.

im 4000 into this oil now after my trip and the motor is at 71,000 miles... my 75,000 ish oil change is where i spoil her with all the Zmax and all!

My buddy has a drag mustang that he changes the oil every other weekend...

idk, I change everything early. Trans fluid at 50,000, plugs at 50,000 , etc.

I agree with ya, I do. I just change it more often because I have alot of it (8-9 cases) sitting in my garage.
