Okay... the radio bezel has that stupid rubbery stuff on it that you must remove by sanding down or peeling off. After that is done I did the following steps...
#1- Prime all pieces
#2- Sand pieces with meduim grit sandpaper
#3- Prime all pieces again
#4- Sand pieces with fine grit sandpaper
#5- Prime all pieces again
#6- Sand pieces with very very fine sandpaper
#7- Allow primer to fully dry and make sure its nice and clean from sanded particles
#8- Paint pieces with desired color rattle can
#9- Sand pieces with fine grit sandpaper
#10- Paint pieces with color rattle can
#11- Sand pieces with very fine sandpaper
#12- Paint pieces with color rattle can
#13- Sand pieces with very very fine sandpaper
#14- Paint pieces with color rattle can
After all that you can add clearcoat if you want but a lot of rattle can paints have plenty of gloss in them. Especially if you do the paint and sand this many times you will already have a great layer of strong and smooth paint that with look great. For primer use and paintable primer. And for the actual color just anything you want. I personally use Duplicolor but Krylon is good too. Just depends on what is available and what colors are offered. Duplicolor has exact match to my Chrom Yellow so thats why I use that. Hope this helps!
