Well, I just joined the Ford Ranger community by buying an '86 Ranger, V6, automatic, 2WD longbed last Thursday for $500. I'm a self-employed handyman and had wrecked my previous truck, an '89 Toyota 1-ton dually flatbed. I think this little Ranger will be much better suited to my needs once I get the fenders straightened out and the transmission working right. I suspect I'll be posting soon looking for advice on that tranny.

Meanwhile, here's a pic of the new toy after washing it up.
(assuming I can figure out how to post one)

So far just been doing past-due routine maintenance and cleaning off 25 years of grime. Truck is all original and shows 98K miles. I don't think it has rolled over the speedo as the body is too straight and the wear isn't that bad.
Any hoo, I'm located in the hills of northwest Arkansas, a born and bred hillbilly, whose first choice in driving is my '69 Fiat Spider, hence my nickname. But I think I'll like this little truck if it doesn't start falling apart on me.

Welcome to the site! You have yourself a nice truck there. Just a couple cosmetic issues, but shouldn't be too difficult to square away. As for a fender, check around your local junkyard for any Ranger from 83-88 or any Bronco II from 84-88. I got one for my BII a couple years back for $10 in perfect condition! I just had to take it off in the junkyard... LOL

Welcome to the site. Looks like a rust free truck, that's rare up here.

RIchard, thanks, and, yeah, it's pretty much rust-free, except for the floorboard. I have a pretty sizeable hole in the driver's floorpan beside the door. Not a biggie 'cause I know I can buy a pan and weld it in. I haven't found any rust anywhere else, so I'm pretty happy about that.

Another great place to check for replacement parts is LMC Truck. They have tons of stock parts (and probably the floor pan).
