AutoZone read my codes and told me I had a bad EGR. I have replaced both the valve and moduel on my 2001 3.0 and check engine light is still on. Guy now says I need the pipe going from manifold to valve body. A friend told me to just remove the pipe and clean it rather than buy a new one. Looking at the situation I see there are 2 small tubes running off the large tube. Seems to me this is where the problem might be (2 small tubes) as these small tubes might clog up faster than the big one . My question. Is this as simple of a repair as it looks, just cleaning out these tubes or does it go further. Thanks

Have you taken the hoses off and checked to see if they are clogged? Also, you could feel along the rubber hoses and see if there are any soft spots in them. If so, it's likely the inside has deteriorated.
