I tried a new mechanic. I bought all the parts, rotors, bearings, seals, pads. Says his labor rate is $65.00 hour. Does $296.00 sound like it he overcharged me. Said he worked on it for 4 hours?? Or am I missing something? Approximately how long should that take? It was for the front brakes only.

After the brakes were done, when applying the brakes, it pulls hard to the right. He then advised me it needed a caliper on the PS. Put the new caliper on, and does not pull as hard, but still pulls to the right only when applying the brakes.

What else could be making it pull to the right?

Small things like uneven tire pressure or inconsistent tread patterns can cause a vehicle to pull to one side. If you've just had the brakes done I would guess there is nothing wrong with the rotors or calipers.
