The ABS light on my 97 ranger is on, peddle depressed lower than normal and the fluid was low. I added more fluid but it did not help. Could this be a leak or maybe just air in the line?

have someone push on the peddle as you look at each wheel for leaking and put a scanner on it to see what code is showing

Thanks, I forget about scanning . I have a auto zone here and will go to them and see what code comes up.
Thanks again.

It could be an ABS sensor in one of the wheels. I have the same issue in mine right now. You could also check to see if the fuse for your ABS is blown.
