97 Ranger gear ratio options?

Hey guys,

What gear ratio options were there for a 97 4x4 Ranger? I know they had 3.73, but did any 4x4 Rangers come equipped with 4.10 gears?

Explorer rear axles had 4.10's, but I'm not sure about Rangers...

Mine came with 3.27's :'(. A few 4x4 rangers came with 4.10's. I am pretty sure most of them were manuals. The 2.3 4x4's often had 4.10's.

yeah, I know some of the newer model FX4's had 4.10's but I totally forgot about the 2.3 4x4's... thanks man! I'm looking for one for my BII
Chances are that if its a 2.3, then it has a 7.5 axle. You should just look for a 4x4 Exploder. They will be 31 spline 8.8 axles with L/s. They came with 3.73's and 4.10's. The 95+ will even have disc brakes if you are willing to work with pbrake cables a bit.

I went with Expo because of the 31 spline, low gears, L/S and It uses RBV parts. Not to mention they are leaf sprung so you can bolt it straight into Ranger if you are looking to lower it. The Expo axle is wider than the Ranger axle as well.
thanks guys! I'm probly going to get an explorer rear axle for my Bronco II... the Ranger currently has a Disc Brake D44 out of a 95 Izuzu Rodeo (6-bolt)... nice match to my 82 Wagoneer front D44 ;D
