will the steering colum and other parts from a 96 fit a 85 model? have a chance to buy 96 that has been flipped for 400 and want to upgrade my 85. thanks for any help, jeff

Wherever I look for a 96 steering shaft, the years listed are 95-10.

Since the dash changes occured in 89 and 95, there may be a slight difference in the shaft itself. The column is definitely different.


That's not to say that it can't be done, but it take a bit of customizing.

thanks for your input, guess i will let it go, mustang is down and have to drive truck to work every day and hoped would be a plug n play deal.

Yeah, you would probably have to take most of the interior to use the steering column. It would be a good deal of customizing. It's been done, but definitely not a quick job.

welcome and its alot of work worth doing if you have the time but your looking a wiring and every thing in this swap
