1993 Ford Ranger 4.0 Automatic with Transmission fluid in Intake manifold?

I looked into the throttle body and can see a puddle of oil in the intake manifold. I thought it was engine oil at first but was able to get it out and it is reddish color. I have read it could be a bad vacuum diaphragm on the transmission but when I look at the Haynes manual it says the vacuum diaphragm was for 4 cylinder engine only. Does the 4.0 automatic have a vacuum diaphragm on the tranny? If so, where is it? Any other thoughts on how the tranny fluid is getting in the intake manifold?
